Rangers beat Hibernian 1-0 at Ibrox, rising from fourth to third in the Scottish Premiership thanks to Emmanuel Fernandez's first half header.

In the 35th minute, Emmanuel Fernandez glanced in Dujon Sterling's cross after a corner to give the hosts control.

Raphael Sallinger kept Hibs alive with seven saves, denying Youssef Chermiti and James Tavernier as the visitors pushed after the restart.

Rangers then turned to the bench, introducing Tavernier on the hour and later Djeidi Gassama and Thelo Aasgaard to add thrust down the flanks and pin Hibs back. In stoppage time, Martin Boyle had a shot blocked as the hosts saw the game out.

Rangers registered 19 attempts, eight on target. Hibs mustered eight attempts, with three on target.

Next, Rangers visit Hearts. Hibs travel to Dundee United.
