FIFA president praises Neo Química Arena crowd at women's final

The Corinthians women's team was mentioned by FIFA President Gianni Infantino in a post last Wednesday, the 15th, made during his participation in the FIFA Women's World Cup Brazil 2027 Host Cities Workshop, which was held on Wednesday and Thursday, the 16th, in Rio de Janeiro.

Infantino mentioned the Brabas while praising the crowd present at Neo Química Arena in September, during the grand final of the Brazilian Women's Championship. No fewer than 40,727 Corinthians fans were present in Itaquera to witness the team's seventh Brazilian title, secured after a 1-0 victory over Cruzeiro.

“I was extremely happy to see that the final of the Brazilian Women's Championship brought more than 40,000 fans to Arena Itaquera, the largest football crowd that weekend among both women's and men's teams. The potential of women's football is far from over and now the next stage of its evolution is in the hands of one of the greatest football nations.”

It is worth remembering that the Corinthians stadium has already been confirmed as one of the venues for the 2027 Women's World Cup, confirming Neo Química Arena's status as a world stage for football, having already hosted matches for the Men's World Cup in 2014, the 2016 Olympic Games, and the 2019 Copa América, as well as two National Football League (NFL) games held in the country, in 2024 and 2025.
