The Finalissima between Spain and Argentina, scheduled for 27 March in Doha, remains in doubt amid regional turmoil.

UEFA said it will decide on the venue and date by the end of next week, and that talks continue with local organisers. It added that, for now, no alternative host is being considered.

The match was due to be staged at Lusail Stadium, bringing together the 2024 European champions and the Copa América title holders.

The fixture’s staging has looked increasingly unlikely since the Qatar Football Association suspended competitions indefinitely following US and Israeli attacks on Iran and retaliatory missile strikes across the Arabian Peninsula, one of which hit the Al Udeid US air base.

Any change of venue would require agreement from the Spanish and Argentine federations, UEFA, CONMEBOL and FIFA.
