VfB Stuttgart are expected to have four players named in Jürgen Klopp’s first Germany squad, with Finn Jeltsch in line for a debut.

Bild reports that the 20-year-old centre-back will receive his first call-up when the squad is announced on Thursday. His inclusion would hardly be a shock after summer links with FC Bayern.

The former Nürnberg defender has started all five of Stuttgart’s matches this season across three competitions. He also captained Germany under-21s in their opening European Championship qualifier.

Klopp is also leaning towards recalling Maximilian Mittelstädt, Josha Vagnoman and Chris Führich. The trio were omitted from Julian Nagelsmann’s World Cup squad, but will return for the start of the UEFA Nations League campaign.

Despite Stuttgart’s slow start, all three are performing well. Vagnoman scored in the first two Bundesliga games, with Mittelstädt opening his account in the narrow defeat to Hoffenheim. Führich has started four straight after missing the curtain-raiser against FC Bayern due to muscular issues.
