BILD reports Finn Jeltsch will get his first Germany national team call-up when Jürgen Klopp announces the squad on Thursday. The new Bundestrainer is planning to name 40 players for his first four games, according to multiple reports.
In comparison with some of the names, Jeltsch’s inclusion will not be a surprise. The 20-year-old was even linked with FC Bayern in the summer as he’s seen as one of the top prospects in the center-back position.
The former Nürnberg defender started all five games so far for Stuttgart in three competitions. The 2024/25 DFB-Pokal winner captained the Germany U21 national team in their first qualifying game for the European Championship.
Meanwhile, Klopp is also leaning towards calling three more Stuttgart players in Thursday’s nomination. Maximilian Mittelstädt, Josha Vagnoman and Chris Führich are all left out of Julian Nagelsmann’s World Cup squad, but they will make their returns for the start of the UEFA Nations League campaign.
Despite Stuttgart’s slow start to the season, all three players are performing well. Vagnoman scored in the first two Bundesliga games of the season, while Mittelstädt opened his account in the narrow defeat to Hoffenheim. Führich also started four consecutive games after missing the curtain-raiser against FC Bayern due to muscular issues.
