Fiorentina are understood to be ahead of Juventus in the push for Manchester United’s Zirkzee, with a €5m season-long loan and a €25m option on the table, La Gazzetta dello Sport reports.

United are expected to let the forward leave before the window shuts after limited chances over the last two years at Old Trafford. He started just five times in the Premier League last season and was an unused substitute for the 2026-27 opener at newly-promoted Hull City last weekend.

With Marcus Rashford back from a loan at Barcelona, Zirkzee appears further down the pecking order in attack. Both Juventus and Fiorentina have explored taking him back to Serie A after he hit 11 league goals for Bologna in 2023-24.

Juventus remain in the market for another forward, but are likely to need a new home for Jonathan David first. Fiorentina, meanwhile, are seeking cover for Italy international Moise Kean, who is set to join Champions League club Como in a €40m deal.

With Juventus’ move contingent on sales and Fiorentina seeking an immediate replacement, the Viola could move quicker to reach an agreement with United. Zirkzee has three years left on his contract, which runs until summer 2029.
