International football takes centre stage this weekend with a fixture list packed with heavyweight clashes and new eras beginning across Europe.

Jurgen Klopp and Zinedine Zidane make eagerly-awaited returns to management, while England host world champions Spain at Wembley and two of football's greatest goalscorers go head-to-head.

From historic rivalries to intriguing managerial debuts, here are five football games you won't want to miss this weekend.

Netherlands vs Germany

Thursday 24th September, kick-off 7:45pm

One of international football's great rivalries has a fresh look this month, as theNetherlands face Germany with both countries under new management.

Xavi was the surprise selection to lead the Dutch, with the former Barcelona boss making his Oranje debut. He's the first foreign coach for the Netherlands since 1978 in what represents an intriguing move.

In the opposite dugout will be Germany's first-choice successor for Julian Nagelsmann. Jurgen Klopp makes his managerial return with the national team, as the Germans look to return to former glories. If anyone can resurrect a fallen giant, it's Klopp.

Italy vs Belgium

Mancini faces Belgium in his first match back in charge, with the Red Devils in transition after the end of their 'Golden Generation' era.

Turkey vs France

Zinedine Zidane makes his managerial return withFrance on Friday night. Few coaches possess such stature that they can take five years out of the game, before returning for the most prestigious position possible.

Arguably France's greatest-ever talent leads Les Bleus in the post-Didier Deschamps era, withTurkey the first test. Turkey underperformed badly at the 2026 World Cup despite boasting a cast of exciting talent.

England vs Spain

England welcome world champions Spain to Wembley in a blockbuster UEFA Nations League opener. The Three Lions will look to avenge their Euro 2024 final defeat to La Roja, the first of successive major tournament wins for Spain.

Ahead of the game, Anthony Gordon hasurged England to forget about copying the Spanish style, and focus on their own English DNA.

Thomas Tuchel has a point to prove, following England's dramatic semi-final collapse to Argentina at the World Cup.

Norway vs Portugal
