Flamengo beat Cruzeiro 2-1 on Wednesday night at the Maracanã, posting the biggest Libertadores attendance by a Brazilian club since 2012 and booking a place in the quarter-finals.

According to Globo.com, the crowd numbered 72,481, with 68,510 paying, and generated R$ 8.1 million, the highest gate by a Brazilian side in this year's competition. Flamengo now await the winner of Tolima x Independiente del Valle.

The previous benchmark was Flamengo 2-1 Estudiantes in the 2025 quarter-final first leg, when 71,977 were in the ground and 66,743 paid, also at the Maracanã.

The third-largest Brazilian crowd in the competition also belongs to Flamengo, a 1-0 win over Racing in the first leg of the 2025 semi-final, with 71,378 present and 65,704 paying.

In the current edition, the earlier high was Fluminense 2-1 Bolívar in the group stage, drawing 62,819, with 58,921 paying, at the Maracanã.

This year's top 10 attendances feature four Cruzeiro matches and three by Flamengo.
