Flamengo have agreed the departure of midfielder Rayan Lucas to Alverca in Portugal. The 21-year-old will travel to report to his new club and will sign a four-year contract.
According to Globo.com, Flamengo will not receive a fee, retaining 50% of his economic rights with a view to a future sale. The agreement was completed on Wednesday.
He had little chance under Leonardo Jardim and has not been named in a squad since the World Cup break.
He left Flamengo in June last year to join Sporting, making 23 appearances, 20 as a starter, and registering one assist. His contract with Flamengo had been due to run until 2028.
Flamengo initially looked to move him on loan and left the assessment to the coaching staff, who decided he would not have a place in the first team. He received a loan offer from Athletic that Flamengo accepted, but his representatives preferred a European club.
A highly rated academy product who joined in 2016, Rayan Lucas helped the club win the Under-20 Libertadores in 2024 and 2025 and a world title in 2024. He survived the 2019 Ninho do Urubu fire that killed 10 youth players, aged 14 at the time. Now only Dyogo Alves remains from that group.
