Flamengo landed in Quito on Monday night to continue preparations for Thursday’s Copa Libertadores quarter-final against Independiente del Valle at Estádio Olímpico Atahualpa, kick-off 21:30 Brasília time.

The squad travelled directly from Belém after beating Remo 1-0 on Sunday in the Campeonato Brasileiro. According to Globo.com, coach Leonardo Jardim has a few changes in his group for the two legs.

The main addition is Plata, who has rejoined after a failed move to Dynamo Moscow and a few days in Dubai. He is likely to be available to face his former club.

There are two notable absences. Everton Cebolinha has been released to resolve his future and, in principle, will not play for Flamengo again. Flamengo will train on Tuesday morning, then complete preparations on Wednesday afternoon at LDU’s training centre. The tie will be settled next week at the Maracanã.
