Flamengo are the new leaders of the 2026 Brasileirão. They went top on Sunday after a 1-0 win at Remo in Belém, combined with Palmeiras' draw with Botafogo at Nilton Santos.

According to Globo.com, it is the first time Flamengo have led the league in 2026, following the conclusion of the 26th round.

Palmeiras had topped the table since the seventh round. Before that, São Paulo, Bragantino, Bahia and Botafogo each led.

Over the last six rounds, Flamengo have won five and lost one. Palmeiras recorded two wins, three draws and one defeat, and their lead, which had been nine points, disappeared over the past month. Flamengo now hold a one-point advantage.

Flamengo also closed the gap last week by beating Mirassol 2-0 at the Maracanã in a fixture postponed from the fourth round. The sides meet in the 36th round.
