Flamengo published its second-quarter 2026 accounts, reporting a R$ 33.8 million first-half deficit on revenue of R$ 839 million after a record spend on the squad. The club said in a statement that cash remains at a safe level for ongoing operations.
The result was weighed by R$ 192.4 million in amortisation of economic rights, including January arrivals, which it considers a natural consequence of investment. Excluding the effects of player trading and the 2025 Club World Cup, recurring performance was the strongest in five years.
Spending on player registrations reached R$ 495.2 million in the half. Lucas Paquetá joined from West Ham for R$ 315.7 million including intermediary costs, with Vitão arriving from Internacional for R$ 81.9 million and Andrew from Gil Vicente for R$ 34.7 million.
Net payables related to players stood at R$ 304 million at the end of the second quarter of 2026, compared with R$ 393.9 million across the half, reflecting payments made and completed sales. Player trading generated gross revenue of R$ 106.9 million in the first half, almost double the R$ 54.5 million a year earlier.
Departures included Ryan Roberto to Shakhtar Donetsk for R$ 56.2 million, Juninho to Pumas for R$ 25.6 million, Victor Hugo to Atlético-MG for R$ 10.7 million and Iago to Orlando City for R$ 6.2 million.
June closed with consolidated free cash of R$ 127.8 million, of which R$ 89.8 million was under Flamengo’s direct management and the remainder with Fla-Flu Serviços S.A., which operates the Maracanã. This represented a reduction of 63.9 million from the end of 2025. Operational net debt ended the period at R$ 280.2 million, down R$ 207.9 million from the 31 March peak after receipts in the quarter and partial settlement of obligations from the first transfer window.
