Flamengo prospect Ryan Roberto in squad to face Bangu after injury | OneFootball

According to Coluna Do Fla, Flamengo have named winger Ryan Roberto in the squad to face Bangu on Wednesday at Moça Bonita, the 17-year-old returning from a thigh injury.

He missed Sunday's 1-1 draw with Portuguesa in Volta Redonda as he was still in transition after the injury.

He is expected to start on the bench, with Bruno Pivetti likely to retain the attacking quartet from the opener. Guilherme, Caio Joshua, Douglas Telles and Wallace Yan are favoured to begin.

To ward off European interest, Flamengo inserted a €50 million clause in Ryan Roberto's deal, around R$ 315 million at current rates. His contract runs until December 2026.

If he features, it would be his professional debut for Flamengo. Despite his age, he has played under-20 football and has trained with Filipe Luís's senior group on occasions.

Kick-off is 21:30 Brasília time on Wednesday. Globo will broadcast free-to-air to much of Brazil, with Premiere showing the match on pay-per-view.
