Flamengo impressed before the break but collapsed after it as Cruzeiro came from behind to win at the Mineirão. According to Globo.com, the lowest ratings went to Leonardo Jardim and Carrascal.

The visitors controlled the first half. Arrascaeta supplied Pedro for the opener and Carrascal spurned big chances that might have stretched the lead.

After the interval the level dipped sharply. Samuel Lino slipped as Arroyo equalised with a strike he could not block, then a deflection off Léo Ortiz wrong-footed Rossi for the winner.

Danilo stood out with timely blocks and clearances, though he tired late. Pulgar worked to contain Matheus Pereira and Cruzeiro went ahead after he was withdrawn.

Rossi reacted late to another long shot yet was not at fault for the second. Varela, Ayrton Lucas and Léo Ortiz struggled.

Arrascaeta created repeatedly, including the assist for Pedro and a breakaway pass to Carrascal, whose finishing let him down. Lucas Paquetá was tidy before fading when moved higher, and he was replaced.

Pedro led the line well, scoring and later denied by the goalkeeper when clean through, and he pinched a few balls. Samuel Lino shone before his costly slip, then left exhausted.

Plata and Everton Araújo failed to convince, Jorginho offered little, and Luiz Araújo arrived too late to rate. Jardim's substitutions did not improve Flamengo and he persisted with Carrascal despite his poor night.
