Flamengo have rejected a 10 million euro fixed-fee bid from Besiktas of Türkiye for centre-back Léo Pereira. According to Globo.com, the proposal covered 100% of his economic rights and equated to R$ 58.14 million.
The club replied by email to turn down the offer shortly after receiving it. Flamengo believe Besiktas could increase their proposal during this window.
Retaining the core squad is the priority, avoiding exits of players considered important by coach Leonardo Jardim. Léo Pereira is first choice in defence and was in the Seleção group at the last World Cup, though unused by Carlo Ancelotti.
Flamengo are weighing improved terms for the defender, either a salary rise or an extension to a deal that runs until the end of 2027. Talks have not started, and he has earned the same since January 2023, when he last renewed.
At the club since 2020, Léo Pereira has made 306 appearances, scored 19 goals and supplied five assists, and has collected 16 titles.
