Arrascaeta was voted fans’ player of the match after scoring the goal that sealed Flamengo’s Libertadores semi-final place in a 1-1 draw with Independiente del Valle at the Maracanã in the quarter-final second leg.

Flamengo had won the first leg 2-0 in Quito, Ecuador, but fell behind before the break to a Reasco strike. The 3-1 aggregate sent Flamengo through to face Estudiantes de la Plata of Argentina next. Before that, they host Red Bull Bragantino on Sunday 20, kick-off 18:30 Brasília time, in the 28th round of the Brasileiro as they aim to protect top spot.
