Flamengo have offered public support to Arrascaeta after the Uruguay playmaker sustained a left wrist fracture on international duty.

According to Coluna Do Fla, the club posted on X, formerly Twitter, backing their no 10 and tagging @GiorgiandeA following confirmation of the injury. He was hurt during Uruguay's 4-1 win over South Korea on Monday 28, slipping unchallenged and feeling pain in his left wrist.

Head coach Diego Forlán replaced him on 32 minutes of the second half, and post-match scans confirmed the fracture. The injury will require surgery, and there is no clear timeframe for his return.

Flamengo have requested his immediate return to Rio de Janeiro, with club doctor Fernando Sassaki's approval, and await further assessment to set the treatment plan. He will miss both Libertadores semi-finals against Estudiantes (ARG).

His importance is clear in 2026, Flamengo's success rate with him stands at 62.9 per cent, compared with 50 per cent without the no 10, as the season enters a decisive stretch in the Brasileirão and Libertadores.
