Leonardo Jardim will not have his full group available for Wednesday 19, the Copa Libertadores last-16 return against Cruzeiro. Alex Sandro, De La Cruz and Vitão remain in the treatment room, while Everton Cebolinha and Bruno Henrique are doubts.
According to Coluna Do Fla, Bruno Henrique missed Sunday 16 against Mirassol after a heavy challenge by Matheus Henrique last week, yet he is likely to be available for Cruzeiro. Everton Cebolinha is recovering from flu and could also return.
Alex Sandro has not played since 29 July, the draw with Internacional, due to right calf tendinitis. De La Cruz has a left thigh injury, while Vitão is nearing the end of his recovery from a left thigh muscle issue.
A probable Flamengo XI is Agustín Rossi, Emerson Royal, Léo Ortiz, Léo Pereira, Ayrton Lucas, Erick Pulgar, Jorginho, Arrascaeta, Samuel Lino, Gonzalo Plata and Bruno Henrique or Pedro. The official line-up is expected around 20:00 Brasília time on Wednesday 19.
The report suggests that, following Jardim’s Libertadores logic, Bruno Henrique would start if fully fit. Jardim has recently said he prioritises physicality in these ties, which also underpins Emerson Royal being favoured over Varela.
Supporters have also debated Lucas Paquetá’s role, with no obvious player to drop in midfield or on the right. He is not yet at full fitness after a World Cup injury.
The match will be shown on Globo nationwide on free-to-air. Paramount Plus and GETV on YouTube will also carry the game.
