Flamengo agreed to sign Brazilian goalkeeper Andrew Ventura from Gil Vicente on Monday 12, bringing in a player with three recent monthly awards in Liga Portugal.

He has eight clean sheets, averages two difficult saves per match and has saved 50% of the penalties he has faced. In the first week of 2026, Filipe Luís and José Boto watched Gil Vicente and the goalkeeper impressed.
Ventura had initially signed a pre-contract, with his deal in Portugal running until mid 2026. Gil Vicente accepted Flamengo's offer for an immediate release, worth €one and a half million, R$ nine point four million at current rates, plus 10% of a future sale.
He is scheduled to arrive in Rio de Janeiro on Tuesday 13 to finalise a four-year contract running until 2030.
