Folarin Balogun, 25, could return for Monaco next weekend, with the striker in contention to be named in the squad to face RC Lens, according to L’Équipe.
Head coach Filipe Luís has said Balogun played through knee pain during the FIFA World Cup in the summer, and he has yet to feature under the Brazilian.
The USMNT forward only rejoined first-team training at the end of last week. Before that, a deadline-day move to Everton collapsed.
Balogun will play for Monaco at least until January. Involvement next Saturday has not been ruled out.
Saturday’s trip to RC Strasbourg Alsace may come too soon after his return to the group, but a place in the final Ligue 1 fixture before the international break is considered a realistic target.
