Nottingham Forest face a pivotal summer under head coach Vitor Pereira, with recruitment plans already under way.

Inside Futbol reports that Besiktas have explored a move for Ibrahim Sangare by contacting his agent, although the midfielder’s price is considered high and any deal could prove difficult. The club are still planning a serious push, but affordability remains in doubt.

Galatasaray right-back Roland Sallai, 28, has been linked with Forest for this summer. The club are reported to be open to a sale at around €25 million, £21.5m, although manager Okan Buruk wants to keep him, which could slow progress.

Oldham Athletic are understood to have made an initial offer for 20-year-old Joe Gardner after his season on loan at Mansfield Town, but it fell short of Forest’s valuation. Talks are continuing as both sides look for a compromise. Gardner previously had a loan spell at Lincoln City.

After a year spent battling near the bottom of the Premier League, Forest know this window is crucial. Kick-off against Bournemouth at the City Ground is four pm on Sunday.
