Former Mamelodi Sundowns winger Suprise Ralani has been appointed as the new head coach of newly established Northen Cape ABC Motsepe League outfit Gaza United.

The veteran winger, who came through the ranks of Stars of Africa academy, spent most of his career playing abroad in Sweden and Denmark.

Upon the end of his European chapter, he was snapped up on a free transfer by Cape Town City during the 2017/18 campaign, and instantly became a fan favorite.

Sundowns came calling four seasons later and he went on to clinch two league titles and one Nedbank Cup trophy in two seasons at Chloorkop.

Following his Downs spell, he signed for Cape Town Spurs during the 2023/24 term and Hungry Lions the subsequent campaign.

With his playing days appearing to be numbered, the 38-year-old is set for a new chapter in the dugout and his immediate task is to inspire the next generation in his home province.

Gaza were established in 2025 and have set their sights on becoming a top professional football club, entrusting their local icon to lead the project.

Meanwhile, Ralani's son, Emile Witbooi, is already grabbing headlines as he is touted to be the next big thing in South African football.
