Fortuna Sittard hold off Zwolle surge to climb two places | OneFootball

Fortuna Sittard beat PEC Zwolle 3-2 on Sunday at Fortuna Sittard Stadion to rise from 13th to 11th in the Eredivisie.

In the 21st minute, Lance Duijvestijn drilled in from outside the box after a lay-off from Kaj Sierhuis to set the tone.

After the restart, Yassin Oukili doubled the lead (50.). Mattijs Branderhorst then parried Thijs Oosting from distance (56.) before Sierhuis swept in a third (65.).

Gabriel Reiziger, on for the injured Kaj de Rooij before the break, pulled one back (75.) from Jamiro Alvarenga's through ball. Zico Buurmeester glanced in a header in the third minute of second half stoppage time from an Oosting cross after a corner.

Neraysho Kasanwirjo struck the post late in the first half as the hosts threatened to pull clear earlier.

Fortuna Sittard produced 12 attempts, nine from inside the box. Zwolle registered eight attempts and won five corners.

It was Oukili's first goal for Fortuna Sittard since his February arrival.
