Morocco’s FA chief Fouzi Lekjaa has asserted that the 2030 World Cup final will be staged at the under-construction Grand Stade Hassan II in Benslimane, near Casablanca.

FIFA said via a spokesperson that no decision has been taken on the final venue and that it will be communicated in due course.

Lekjaa made the claim at a Party of Authenticity and Modernity event in Bouznika. He also expressed a wish for a Morocco versus France final to seek revenge, drawing applause.

Spain, Portugal and Morocco will co-host the 2030 tournament, with centenary fixtures in South America, yet the location of the title match remains unresolved. Spain is pushing the Santiago Bernabéu and the Spotify Camp Nou.

Morocco is building the Grand Stade Hassan II to a planned capacity of around 115,000, aiming to make it a defining symbol of the World Cup and of the country’s transformation. The arena, inspired by traditional moussem tents, is rising in Benslimane between Casablanca and Rabat.

Construction is slated to finish in 2027, allowing ample time to test the venue before the tournament. For now, Lekjaa’s comments signal confidence and pressure from Morocco, rather than an official confirmation.
