Morocco claims 2030 World Cup final, FIFA says decision not yet made | OneFootball

Morocco has moved to claim the 2030 World Cup final, with federation chief Fouzi Lekjaa stating Benslimán will host it at the new Gran Estadio Hassan II. The venue has yet to be decided.

According to Superdeporte, Lekjaa made the remark at a Partido Autenticidad y Modernidad (PAM) event in Bouznika. He also serves as minister delegate for the Budget and recently joined the party’s political bureau.

He went further, saying he would welcome a Morocco v France final to seek revenge, invoking God’s will to frame the hope.

Spain, Portugal and Morocco will share hosting, alongside centenary fixtures in South America.

Spain’s case is underpinned by the Santiago Bernabéu and the Spotify Camp Nou.

Morocco’s centrepiece, the Gran Estadio Hassan II near Casablanca and Rabat, is planned for around 115,000 spectators and draws on traditional moussem tents. Construction is targeted for completion in 2027.

Lekjaa’s certainty signals confidence and applies pressure, not an official decision. The final venue is to be communicated in due course, as set out on 5 August.
