The Foxes Trust have described Leicester City’s leadership changes as deeply concerning and showing a lack of accountability, in a statement.

City’s reshuffle this week brought in James McCarron as sporting director, moved Jon Rudkin to chief football officer and promoted former finance director Kevin Davies to chief executive.

The group welcome movement but question Rudkin’s continued control of football operations, arguing a true reset would have seen him leave rather than be elevated.

After Susan Whelan’s October exit, they had urged the appointment of a CEO with a proven football background. Five months on, they view the internal hire, after 15 years in finance roles, as a missed chance for outside perspective, while acknowledging the value of continuity.

They are seeking clarity on McCarron’s remit and say regular, open communication is needed to rebuild trust. A recent pulse survey found 87 per cent of members want further leadership changes beyond the two planned appointments, and reported strong dissatisfaction with ownership and leadership performance.

McCarron attended the defeat to Norwich at the weekend and is due to start at the end of the month. Once settled, he is expected to speak more regularly than City’s hierarchy have done in recent seasons.
