France national team head coach Zinedine Zidane has this week hinted that he could make use of the talents of captain and star man Kylian Mbappé in a different position to his customary centre-forward berth.

This comes with the tactician viewing the Real Madrid standout favourably in a wide role.

Frontman Mbappé is for his part fresh off a historic summer in the colours of France. En route to an eventual semi-final elimination at the hands of Spain at the World Cup, the 27-year-old secured both the Golden Boot and the title of top scorer ever at the tournament.

All of this came from a central role, as Les Bleus’ attacking spearhead. This is of course the same position in which Mbappé takes to the pitch at club level with Real Madrid.

Speaking to the media after unveiling his maiden squad on Friday, new French headmaster Zinedine Zidane was therefore drawn on his plans to utilise his captain moving forward.

And ‘Zizou’ turned heads with his response, revealing his take that:

“Kylian Mbappé is capable of playing in all 3 positions in attack. Personally, I really like him as a left winger.”
