Barcelona have identified Karl Etta Eyong Levante’s breakout Cameroonian striker as priority option to replace Robert Lewandowski, whose contract expires in Jun 2026.

Reports confirm that the 37 year old Polish legend isn't expected to renew leaving Barca’s sporting hierarchy searching for young, dynamic No9 to anchor their future attack.

Levante’s asking price revealed

According to Football Espana and Mundo Deportivo, Levante have informed interested clubs that Eyong’s release clause stands at €30 million for La Liga teams rising to €40 million if move involves Premier League side.

The 22 year old has been one of La Liga’s early season revelations contributing 6 goal and 3 assist in 10 matches.

Why Barca want him

For Hansi Flick and the Camp Nou recruitment staff, Eyong represents blend of physical strength, pace and finishing rarely available at his price point.

"He’s a player with Barca DNA — technically clean, direct and intelligent without the ball" a club source told Mundo Deportivo.

January plan under discussion

Barca are considering January pre contract deal allowing Eyong to sign this winter but remain on loan at Levante until Jun 2026 since FIFA rules prevent him from representing 3 different club in single season.

Financial fair play constraints still hover over the operation but Barcelona are optimistic that the 1:1 salary cap rule could return in January.

The Cameroonian on the rise

Etta Eyong’s rise has also caught the eye of the Cameroon national team earning him recent call up. At just 22 his direct goal involvement every 85 minutes places him among the most efficient young strikers in Spain.
