Vitinha’s Wolves loan in 2020 underwhelmed, but he has since flourished at PSG and featured in Tuesday’s 5-4 against Bayern Munich.
According to ExpressAndStar.com, the midfielder joined from Porto on a season-long deal with an £18m option, after Porto moved him on due to UEFA’s financial fair play rules.
He made 22 appearances, producing one assist and one goal, a superb solo strike in an FA Cup win at non-league Chorley. Wolves declined the option to buy at the end of the season.
Back at Porto he won a domestic double, then PSG paid £34m. Nine domestic titles and a Champions League later, he is viewed as one of their key players.
So why did it not work at Molineux? Nuno highlighted the Premier League’s physicality and intensity, noting Vitinha was 20 and competing with Joao Moutinho and Ruben Neves.
He also said the stint improved him. In Paris, Luis Enrique has called him 'the perfect midfielder' and praised his ball security, pivot play, and mental and physical strength.
