Gabriel Bontempo joins Brazil camp in Brisbane for Australia and India friendlies | OneFootball

Gabriel Bontempo has joined the Brazil squad in Brisbane for the Super Data FIFA and took part in training on Monday 21 ahead of friendlies against Australia and India.

According to Diario Do Peixe, the Santos number eight is available to head coach Carlo Ancelotti alongside 25 other players, including former Santos defender Jair. Brazil face Australia on Friday 25 at Queensland Country Bank in Townsville, with kick-off at seven, Brasília time.

The second meeting with Australia is scheduled for Wednesday 29 at Suncorp Stadium in Brisbane, also at seven, Brasília time.

Brazil then play India on Saturday the third at Salt Lake in Calcutta, with kick-off at 11, Brasília time.

Jair, a former team-mate, praised Bontempo and said the midfielder opened his home to him after he passed Santos’ academy trials and had nowhere to stay, calling Bontempo a key figure in his journey.

These fixtures are Brazil’s first tests as they look towards the 2030 World Cup.
