Gabriel Mec, an 18-year-old winger, arrived in Portugal on Tuesday to finalise a move to FC Porto from Grêmio.

According to O Jogo, the deal is worth 10 million euros, and the Porto Alegre club had already accepted Porto’s offer on Sunday and authorised the player to travel.

The remaining formalities were concluded swiftly, confirming a third signing for head coach Francesco Farioli in a short space of time after Santiago Gimenez and Souza.

Grêmio coach Luís Castro, who worked at Porto for several years, has praised the teenager’s technical ability and two-footed turning, describing him as unpredictable in rotations and instinctive in his finishing.

Castro also noted he had little more than 40 minutes of senior action last season but channelled that hunger to progress, and Gabriel has three goals and two assists in 32 appearances.
