Liverpool faced off against Newcastle United at St. James’ Park earlier today as they looked to secure a good result on the road in the Premier League. The Reds made a slow start to the game and conceded the opening goal in the fifth minute when Anthony Elanga found the back of the net. Andoni Iraola’s men went into the half-time break 1-0 down on the scoreline.
Cody Gakpo equalised for Liverpool with a great strike in the 55th minute. However, Joe Willock restored Newcastle’s lead just a couple of minutes later. The Reds ended up scoring the equaliser thanks to Dominik Szoboszlai’s strike from the penalty spot in injury time as Iraola’s players secured a hard-fought 2-2 draw at St. James’ Park.
