After two consecutive defeats against Cagliari and Napoli, Gasperini finally got the response he was looking for from his team.
Roma won decisively against Celtic in Glasgow, but still haven’t managed to qualify for the top eight of the League Phase.
The coach is enjoying the three points, but for the first time, he’s openly discussing the transfer market. “It will be very important because Roma can’t stand still; they need to improve. If we don’t do anything, we risk missing an opportunity,” the coach said post-match, with the January transfer window just around the corner.
In addition to a center forward, Gasperini has also specifically asked Sporting Director Massara for a central defender to strengthen the squad.
Regarding Ferguson, who finally put in a convincing performance yesterday, the coach emphasized: “He’s a young player; you have to be patient with him, but he did well.”
Despite the victory, the coach isn’t satisfied and aims to improve further. Roma looked tired in Cagliari, but Gasperini dismisses the idea that it’s just a physical issue: “Sometimes the fatigue isn’t physical, but nervous. It depends on many things,” he added.
