Gennaro Gattuso and Kenneth Taylor swiftly drew a line under a training-ground spat at Lazio, ending it with a playful ritual.

Il Corriere dello Sport reports that on Thursday morning at Formello, Taylor collided with Matteo Cancellieri during a mini-match. Gattuso brushed off the midfielder’s complaints, telling him to get up and play, prompting a vulgar hand gesture. The coach immediately sent the 24-year-old off, and Taylor removed his top and headed for the dressing room.

Attention then turned to the afternoon session, with interest in whether Taylor would rejoin the group. He did, taking to the pitch alongside his team-mates as normal.

Gattuso opted for a light-hearted punishment. After a rondo, players formed two lines and Taylor ran between them while they tapped him on the head, a routine usually kept for new arrivals.

The incident now appears to be behind them, with coach and player resuming work as usual.
