Mauro Icardi, previously linked with Benfica, is set for a return to Italy with Gennaro Gattuso’s Lazio.
According to Glorioso 1904, the club plan to offer the 33-year-old a two-year contract on a free transfer.

Icardi intends to assess other options before deciding and is giving priority to clubs in the Champions League, which Lazio are not in.
Lazio turned to Icardi after missing out on Franjo Ivanovic, who joined Lens.
The former Galatasaray striker became a free agent after his deal in Türkiye expired. He played 47 matches last season, scoring 16 goals with three assists, and previously represented Sampdoria and Inter Milan.
