Lazio ‘to part with’ out-of-contract trio Pellegrini, Lazzari and Cataldi | OneFootball

Lazio are not expected to offer new deals to at least three players whose contracts expire this season, according to Il Corriere dello Sport, with Luca Pellegrini, Manuel Lazzari and Danilo Cataldi seen as on their way out.

It follows a summer in which the club moved on Ivan Provedel, Mario Gila and Alessio Romagnoli, and rescinded Samuel Gigot’s contract, despite all four being under terms to June 2027.

For Pellegrini, 27, the picture is clearest. Alfonso Pedraza’s arrival has pushed him down the left-back order and he was omitted from the Serie A squad list, while Patric completed a move to Al-Ittifaq on Monday morning. A January exit remains possible.

Lazzari, 32, is currently third choice at right-back behind Romano Floriani Mussolini and Adam Marusic. He has retained a squad place, but an extended stay appears unlikely.

Cataldi was overlooked for the captaincy after Ciro Immobile’s 2024 departure, with the armband going to Mattia Zaccagni, and relations have been strained since. Back from a 2025 Fiorentina loan, he is yet to receive an offer amid ongoing fitness issues.

Matteo Cancellieri is the exception among the expiring deals. The 24-year-old was close to leaving in the summer window until Gennaro Gattuso blocked the move, and he has started regularly on the right with Gustav Isaksen still short of form.
