Geral do Grêmio have raised R$ 103,000 via an online crowdfunder to stage a matchday display for the first leg of the Copa do Brasil semi-final.

Branded "Maior Recebimento da História", the drive hit its R$ 100,000 target in under a week. The milestone was announced on Tuesday on the group’s social media channels.

The funds will go on a new giant flag, banners and a mosaic, plus other materials for the team’s reception and support. The plan is to involve every section of the stadium.

Detailed plans have not yet been released, but the Gre-Nal quarter-final offered a glimpse of what might follow. The Grêmio team bus was met with flares and chants at the stadium entrance, which is not typical of regular fixtures.

Grêmio face Atlético at the Arena on Sunday, the first of November, at 18:30. The return is on Saturday, the seventh of November, at 18:00, at Arena MRV.
