Germany have lost Brajan Gruda for the international break. The German Football Association announced on Monday that the RB Leipzig attacker will not join the squad as planned on Sunday.

Gruda sustained the problem during Leipzig’s 2-0 defeat to Bayer Leverkusen on Sunday.

The 22-year-old has a strain to his lateral abdominal muscles, ruling him out of this window.

He had been selected in the second of two Germany squads covering the next four UEFA Nations League fixtures, specifically the 20-man group for the home match against Serbia and the away trip to Greece in October.

Before those two games, Klopp’s 24-man squad face the Netherlands away and Greece at home. It remains to be seen whether Klopp will call up a replacement.
