Andrey Santos was most people’s pick as man of the match in Saturday’s win over Burnley.

It’s not his first good performance for us, but it still felt like the first game where he was the outstanding player on the pitch. That’s good progress given how few important games he’s started.

The fact that he had to play in the Moises Caicedo role without Caicedo in the team made it even more impressive. Those are big shoes to fill, and the Brazilian did so well.

“It’s a big victory, so I’m really happy to be here and to play,” Santos said to Chelsea TV.

“Every day I learn something from Moises, Enzo and Romeo Lavia. Our team is like a family and we help each other every day, and I’m so happy to play with all of them.

“The most important thing is the three points and the away victory, and now we have to keep going, keep fighting for every game. It’s a Premier League game and we knew it was going be difficult,” the midfielder continued.

“I like to get involved with the tackles, to help my team-mates, and I’m so happy with my performance today, and the performance of the team. We fought very well for the win.”

He’s surely earned himself more minutes this week with that display.

Enzo Maresca joked that he might drop Estevao Willian after Saturday’s win, but only if the winger did this one thing he didn’t like.

After Saturday’s win over Burnley, Maresca was asked about Marc Cucurella’s contribution to the win, and he praised the defender’s ability to get into the box and cause the opposition problems, as he did for his team’s opening goal.
