Getafe to sign Lyon midfielder Orel Mangala on loan

Getafe are expected to sign Belgium international midfielder Orel Mangala (28) on loan from Lyon, according to L’Equipe. Les Gones, who have lost their Champions League 3rd qualifying round’s first leg against Sparta Prague on Tuesday, are in the process of slimming down their squad. They also need to let go of several players on massive wages, like Mangala.

The Belgian midfielder was signed from Nottingham Forest in 2024 on a four-year deal. His Lyon spell was marred by a serious ACL injury while on loan at Everton last year. L’Equipe adds that Getafe is expected to sign him on a season-long loan and to cover slightly more than half of his wages.
