Gipuzkoa unites behind Real Sociedad before Copa del Rey final | OneFootball

According to Diario Vasco, Gipuzkoa is gripped by the build-up to Real Sociedad’s Copa del Rey final in Sevilla, a moment that feels bigger than football and binds the province.

Mobilisation will be massive. Thousands will travel to La Cartuja, while many more will watch from home, at regular meeting points or on giant screens in numerous municipalities, all with one aim, to push the team on a night that could stick in the collective memory.

Support keeps rolling in from all quarters. Health workers at Hospital Donostia, from OSI Donostialdea, have sent their message, "OSI Donostialdea, comprometidos con Gipuzkoa, unidos por un sentimiento: Aupa Real!"

Sporting allies have joined too. Bidasoa Irun, a leading handball club, addressed the txuri-urdin dressing room, "Aupa Reala! Zuekin gaude final honetan eta espero dugu Kopa Gipuzkoara ekartzea!" The Irún side paused amid demanding schedules to look towards Sevilla.

Grassroots groups are also on board. Atzegi, the Gipuzkoan association supporting people with intellectual disabilities, struck a deeper note about belonging, "Denok elkarrekin!!! ¡Más que un equipo, una familia! Aupa Reala!!!"

The list of voices will grow in the coming days as the campaign continues to gather testimonies from across Gipuzkoa, spanning culture, business, sport and science. Meanwhile the province readies itself, flags on balconies, scarves to hand, and a single chant rising, Aupa Real.
