From Monday, Gisela Robledo enters the final week of her Corinthians contract, which ends on 31 August. Despite head coach Emily Lima's recent optimism over keeping her, the club has not announced a renewal or commented publicly.

According to Meu Timao, finances have been the key stumbling block. Talks to extend began in the first half of 2026, with Robledo's camp seeking a project offering greater prominence as enquiries also arrived from abroad. The process has been hindered by a financial crisis, including debt above R$ 2.7 billion and repeated delays in prize and image-rights payments.

On 9 August, after a Brasileirão Feminino match, Lima said Robledo would remain part of the squad. She added that requesting the player's renewal was among her first actions after taking charge in February.

Robledo joined Corinthians in August 2024 from Tenerife, having previously played for Atlas, América de Cali and Independiente Santa Fe. In her first season she missed the Brasileirão knockout stages due to registration deadlines, featuring only in the Libertadores and the Campeonato Paulista.

She grew into a regular option, even filling in on the right flank under Lucas Piccinato, and was a starter during the 2025 Libertadores title run. That period also brought more frequent Colombia call-ups.

Under Lima she has had more starts and influence off the bench. In 2026 she has three goals and four assists in 16 appearances, her highest season for direct goal contributions.
