Dominic Calvert-Lewin was voted Leeds United’s Hisense Player of the Match after a tireless centre-forward display in Sunday’s 1-1 draw with Brentford at the Gtech Community Stadium.
The striker played the full 90 minutes and capped his performance with a crucial late equaliser, cancelling out Jordan Henderson’s 70th-minute opener for the hosts. Calvert-Lewin struck in the 82nd minute, reacting quickest in the penalty area to earn Daniel Farke’s side a deserved point on the road.
Despite seeing limited possession, the 27-year-old made his influence felt where it mattered most. Calvert-Lewin registered 23 touches and completed five passes, while remaining a constant physical presence against Brentford’s back line. He attempted three shots across the contest and contributed defensively with one tackle and two clearances.
His aerial dominance was a key feature of the performance, winning eight duels in total, six of them in the air, providing Leeds with an important outlet as they pushed for an equaliser in the closing stages.
Leeds United supporters recognised his impact, voting Calvert-Lewin as Player of the Match with 34% of the total vote. Captain Ethan Ampadu finished second on 22%, while Gabriel Gudmundsson placed third with 19%.
