Some players choose to work their magic in the penalty area, hustling and pouncing on chances, whereas others are struck by inspiration much further away from the goal line. Since the start of the season, 30 goals have been scored from outside the box in Ligue 1 Uber Eats. Last Sunday, Clermont Foot 63 striker Grejohn Kyei added to that list by firing past Benoit Costil to give his side a 2-1 win over AJ Auxerre. And in such style! Without a second thought, the CF63 number 95 put his boot through the ball 28.91 metres from goal and it ended up in the back of the net. This was enough to earn him the award for the longest goal of the season. Moses Simon (27.31m) and Haris Belkebla (26.27m) complete the podium, while Nuno Tavares (25.06m and 24.26m) is the only player to appear twice in the top ten of long-distance scorers.
