The Rio Grande do Sul refereeing commission released the VAR audio from Gre-Nal 450, the first leg of the Gauchão final, following complaints from Internacional about the officiating.

The first incident reviewed was an alleged elbow by Grêmio’s Arthur on Borré at the edge of the area. VAR official Daniel Nobre Bins judged that Arthur was shielding the ball with a retracting arm and that contact was initiated by Borré, who was airborne.

At 32 minutes, Bernabei was sent off after a foul on Amuzu. The VAR checked the turnover by Monsalve, confirmed the foul outside the box and deemed it a denial of an obvious goal-scoring opportunity, with the attacking phase of play clean.

Grêmio’s second goal arrived at 38 minutes with Ronaldo on the turf as Amuzu scored. The earlier challenge between Noriega and Ronaldo was reviewed, with the VAR concluding Noriega tucked his legs and any contact was minimal, so the goal stood and the attacking phase was clean.

Later, Inter issued a note expressing deep concern and disagreement with the criteria applied in the Gre-Nal, particularly around card use and disciplinary decisions.

The club said it was incredulous about the audio regarding the Arthur and Borré incident, arguing the VAR interpretation shifted responsibility to the player who was fouled, and requested further information from the refereeing commission. Inter also met the FGF to discuss the situation.
