Grêmio have confirmed Arthur will leave at the end of his loan, with the deal running until 30 June 2026. The club said in a statement that his contract would not be extended.

Talks over a new agreement broke down over finances, despite a proposal for the midfielder to stay until the end of 2028. Any renewal also depended on terms with Juventus, who hold his rights until mid 2027.

Juventus have not yet decided whether to use the player. In contacts with Grêmio, they asked to include centre-back Viery, an academy prospect, in talks, which the board rejected.

Fluminense have recently made an enquiry about Arthur’s situation.

Arthur returned to Grêmio in August last year, playing 36 matches, scoring one goal and helping win the Gaúcho title earlier this year.

The 29-year-old came through Grêmio’s academy and was part of the 2016 Copa do Brasil and 2017 Libertadores triumphs in his first spell. The club thanked him for his contribution and wished him success.
