Grêmio confirm Viery sale to Fiorentina, deal could reach €17 million | OneFootball

Grêmio have confirmed the sale of defender Viery to Fiorentina. The club said in a statement that all formalities were finalised and that it kept a percentage of any future capital gain, while the fee was not disclosed.

Viery is in Italy and has completed a medical. The package could reach €17 million, comprising €15 million guaranteed and up to two million euros in bonuses.

Last week, Grêmio signed 21-year-old centre-back Wallace Santos from CRB. He has already featured in a friendly against Cascavel at the weekend.

Viery established himself at centre-back this year under Luís Castro and emerged as a standout. He made his professional debut last year and first appeared as a left-back.

At the end of 2025 he was on a list of players permitted to leave the Tricolor. A change in the board then altered the picture and he became a target in the market.

Viery posted a farewell video to Grêmio on social media. The club thanked the 21-year-old for his professionalism and wished him success in the next stage of his career.
