Grêmio could make at least three changes for Thursday’s Gre-Nal quarter-final second leg at the Arena at 20:00 Brasília time, with right-back Diego Caito a major doubt due to a left shoulder injury.

According to Gremistas.net, Caito, on loan from Goiás with a permanent move planned for next season, was hurt in the Beira-Rio derby after a clash with Carbonero, and tests on Friday 28 confirmed the problem.

If he cannot play, Pavón, a standout in the second half of the year, may again be used at right-back. Another potential absentee is Jovane Cabral, who felt muscle discomfort before the 3-1 win over Chapecoense.

Amuzu is also a doubt after playing through the last round of the Brazilian Championship, and Luís Castro said he was not in good physical condition.

The coach added that both Jovane and Amuzu are concerns for Thursday, noting Jovane has a muscle issue and that his availability will be assessed.

Selection calls extend to centre-back, where Castro must pick a partner for Wallace. Gustavo Martins scored twice against Chapecoense and is competing with Walter Kannemann, who impressed in the first Gre-Nal, for the role.

The match will be shown live on Amazon Prime streaming.
