Grêmio loan Leonel Pérez to Racing on one-year deal with option to buy | OneFootball

Grêmio confirmed on Monday morning that Leonel Pérez has joined Racing on a one-year loan, which includes an option to buy.

The Argentine bade farewell on Saturday, featuring in the 2-1 win over São Paulo at the Arena.

Racing can acquire the 21-year-old’s economic rights for US$ 3.5 million, around R$ 17.82 million at current rates.

The loan fee was not disclosed. Grêmio still owe Racing money from the purchase of another Argentine midfielder, Nardoni, who arrived at the Arena around the same time as Pérez.

Pérez signed from Huracán at the start of the year. Grêmio bought 50% of his rights for a committed US$ 2.83 million and he agreed a contract through 2029.

After the World Cup break, he lost his starting place, with Peruvian Erick Noriega now operating in the holding role.
