Grêmio’s women have a new base, unveiling a training centre at RGM Academy in Gravataí, in the Porto Alegre metropolitan area, within the complex run by former keepers Marcelo Grohe and Rodrigo Galatto. According to Globo.com, the facility was inaugurated on Monday and opens to the squad on Tuesday.

President Odorico Roman attended alongside club officials from the men’s and women’s football departments, coaching staff, players, media and guests, with Grohe and Galatto, former Grêmio team-mates with title-winning spells, present at the ceremony.

RGM covered infrastructure expansion costs, while the club invested about R$ one million in equipment and furnishings. Works are being finalised, but training shifts to the site from Tuesday.

Grohe said hosting Grêmio felt a special moment for the women’s game, reflecting wider growth as clubs devote more care, and he expressed delight at helping provide improved facilities the players deserve. Galatto added that partnering with Grêmio brings him joy, stressing that women should have a space of this standard.

The complex offers one natural-grass pitch, now in a planting and growth phase, plus two synthetic pitches and a sand court.

Inside, there are eight dorms for 32 athletes, each with its own bathroom, plus leisure and study space, laundry, changing rooms and a kit room. Facilities include the Medical Department, Nutrition, Social Assistance, Psychology, administration, storage and a staff office.

The site also houses a gym, physiotherapy room, restaurant, kitchen and auditorium, with technical areas for filming and a media zone. The project began under the new board in January, and the six-year lease includes an extension option.
